Celebrate VE Day 75th Anniversary at Home

The Royal British Legion is calling on people across the UK to join in a moment of Reflection and Remembrance at 11:00am on Friday 8th May, the 75th Anniversary of VE Day, and pause for a Two Minute Silence. I hope that we will all support this aspect of VE Day from the safety of our homes too.

From the comfort of your armchair,  you can all take part in the following;

11:15am – VE Day 75 Livestream: There will be a live stream on either the British Legion’s website or their facebook page. The show will bring the World War Two generation together with today’s generation to chat about their shared experiences.

08:00pm – An evening of Memories and Music on BBC One

09:00pm – A UK-Wide Singalong: A rendition of Dame Vera Lynn’s ‘We’ll Meet Again’

VE Day Resources for Home: The British Legion have created resources for parents and carers, specially designed for home learning. They are aimed at 7-14 year olds and include family-friendly activities and support for you when talking to your child/children about VE Day and Remembrance.
